Designed to resemble an ocean liner, the ultra-modern Rome Radisson SAS hotel, set next to Termini station and 500 metres from Santa Maria Maggiore church, is defined by layers of concrete, glass and steel. With clean, white minimal decor and rich, polished wooden floors, each of the 235 air-conditioned guestrooms has an entirely glazed end wall fitted with remote control blinds offering views of the street or the hotel's courtyard. All rooms have plasma screen cable television, direct-dial phones and high-speed Internet connections. Bathrooms are separated from the sleeping and living areas by glass walls and low screens.
Guests can work out in the seventh floor gym, relax in the sauna and steam room and indulge in a massage in the health suite. In summer months, guests can lounge beside the open-air rooftop pool and separate children's pool while taking in panoramic views of the city's rooftops. With glass walls and minimalist decor with black, white and green furniture, the restaurant offers modern Italian fare at dinner and extends onto the poolside terrace for al fresco dining in warm weather, while light meals are available all day at the rooftop café-bar. The modern conference centre has three giant screen projectors and four plasma screens, the business centre is open round the clock and guests can work online throughout the hotel's public areas thanks to wireless Internet. The 24- hour front desk has a safe for valuables and guests can quiz the concierge for local information and tour advice. The centrally located hotel is within walking distance of many of Rome's key sights - Piazza Venezia and the Forum are within a kilometre and the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain are within three kilometres. DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Fiumicino Airport:
Take the GRA motorway in the direction of "Roma Centro". Take the "Tiburtina" exit and continue straight following signs for "Centro". Then follow signs for "Termini". The hotel is located very close to the railway station and is clearly signposted from there.
The airport train and taxis (official ones are either yellow or white) are available for transfer from the airport to the center of Rome.
The Rome Underground system (the Metro) connects the hotel with the rest of central Rome within 20 minutes. The Underground station closest to the hotel is Termini. Taxis and buses are also available.
